According to the American Heart Association, there are more than 357,000 EMS-assessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) each year in the United States, and nearly 90 percent of OHCA’s are fatal.

Victims of cardiac arrest who receive prompt medical attention including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to increase the blood flow to the heart and brain and/or an electrical shock from a defibrillator to stop the abnormal heart rhythm are much more likely to survive than those who do not receive swift medical intervention.
Employers without nearby medical facilities are required to have at least one employee trained in First Aid. Some industries prioritize or mandate CPR and First Aid training due to the nature of their work and the populations they serve.

The VTA Device (Visual Training Assistant) monitors the student's actions during chest compressions and provides feedback on compression depth and rate. About
My name is Dave Racette
Founder and Head Trainer for Good Samaritan Strategies
Born and raised in Minnesota, I have dedicated over 23 years of my career to Uponor, now known as Georg Fischer. In the past five years, I have specialized in Environmental Health and Safety, focusing on creating safer work environments.
As part of my role, I trained employees in First Aid and CPR, ensuring preparedness and safety within the organization. During my training at the Minnesota Safety Council to become a Trainer, they brought me in as a Training Contractor part time. Since then, I have provided nearly 160 trainings and 1600 attendees throughout the greater Minnesota area in the first three years.
After receiving training requests from In-Home Educators, Yoga and Fitness Instructors, Babysitters, and others, I finally opened up Good Samaritan Strategies, where I continue to do what I love.
